Jaime Hinckson Inspires Boys & Girls Club of Alachua County

In honor of Jazz Appreciation Month, Jaime paid a visit to the local Alachua County Boys & Girls Club this past Monday, April 14th. Bright eyed and bushy tailed, 15 kids ages five to fourteen listened as Hinckson explained that “Jazz music is everywhere…even in 2Chainz.”

The two-hour workshop involved a free flowing question and answer session where kids brought up everything from music to life experiences and of course, song requests. Jaime encouraged the group to sing the words to their requests as he played popular songs, like the billboard number one hit “Royals” by Lorde on his keyboard.

Making jokes with the group, laughing and telling his story of how he started in music, Jaime certainly left an impression on these inquiring minds.

“Inspiring kids to use music as an outlet is a cause I am 100% devoted to. I didn’t always love music the way I do now, and without my mentors that led me in this direction I probably wouldn’t have even considered music a path. By coming here and talking with the kids, I just hope to plant the seed…even if it’s just one or two of them that decide to pick up music. It’s definitely worth it, and it’s an awesome feel-good way to start my week.”
